the {scoop}

so here is the scoop…

i am stacie rominski.

i am a photographer – but please remember that this is also my business – and I take that  just as serious as my photography.

i like a little coffee with my cream.

i totally understand that being photographed can be awkward… but it doesn’t mean it cannot be fun.

i have been in the “biz” for 7 years. shooting professionally for 4 years.

i take photos on my cell phone all the time… but those are not the photos that adorn my home or that i share with loved ones.

i have a pair of {shooting} boots… no joke, they are awesome….

i am not afraid to go on a little adventure & am always game for trying new locations.

i edit ALL of my own photographs… my second shooters too! yes… that that does take a long time…

i have my own style, but that doesn’t mean I do not try to cater the shoot to your needs… with that said, if you want something TOTALLY different from what you see on this site, please do not hire me, i mean it. there are lots of fantastic photographers out there with different styles and techniques. do not settle, photographs are important!

i love fun {brackets} and not capitalizing letters.

i am 100% eclectic in all parts of my life.

i have a super crush on {bon jovi}

if you play 80s music at your wedding… i will dance…. fair warning!

i prefer to shoot organically with lighting provided by a particular location. i only use lights when i absolutely HAVE to!

i am a phonetic speller… which means i cannot spell words accurately 80% of the time. spell check has equally saved my life & stunted my learning curve at the same time.

i shoot Nikon {nothing against cannon, just grew up as a Nikon girl}. i shoot 100% manual and will use flashes, studio lighting, reflectors when necessary – but prefer to keep those in hiding.

{my weaknesses} include, but are not limited to: cupcakes. anything with the words salted & caramel in the title. cherry pepsi. things that do not match. frenchies. adorable little boy’s named {felix} & handsome partner’s in crime named {matty}

my family rocks and is completely supportive! love ya’ll!

Kelly Vanderpool - Hi Stacie,

I am a big fan of your work-especially the way you use lighting and depth of field to emphasize the subject. My name is Kelly VanderpooI am creative and attentive to details with extensive experience in working with people. My areas of expertise are: awareness of people’s needs, attention to detail, and flexibility in fast paced situations. In addition, I have had ten years of experience with manual SLR cameras and three with digital. I am contacting you to see if you have any assistant opportunities for me to gain more experience, whether it is for a single event or ongoing work.
I have always had excellent relationships with employers and excelled in challenging situations. Such as effectively developing an autistic child’s skills so she could function within her school. Additionally I was awarded employee of the year at a business with 30 plus employees while balancing two jobs and going to school full time.
Throughout my career, I have always been known for reliability, organization, and dedication. I have an eye for detail and often notice elements others do not. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin- Madison and Saint Paul College. At this time I aspire to focus on my passion and learn more about photography by assisting the photographer to compose the best image. If you are looking for someone to assist you, whether it is once or many times, let me know and I can send you a resume and references at your request.

Thank you,

Kelly Vanderpool
